Often, they harbor incorrect ideas about their competitors. Koch Group consultants work with our clients to determine the identity of key competitors. We contact selected competitors to obtain a variety of information via the telephone and request marketing literature. We will visit a competing manufacturers plant to obtain a tour. We often interview distribution participants distributors, dealers, and agents to obtain information about competitive products, market trends, competitive selling activities, and typical promotional activities. We attend trade shows to obtain competitive market intelligence by interviewing competitor booth personnel.
