Consulting fees, billing, and contracting FAQs
What will you charge us?Our rates are variable depending on the assignment and its complexity. Our rates range from $115 to $175 per hour and most projects are proposed as fixed fee. Detailed cost breakdowns are presented to our clients in the final proposal. How will we be billed?At the end of each month, we run activity reports by each client job number and examine the hours expended. We then generate an invoice accompanied by a detailed explanation of the tasks completed that month and list those tasks which we expect to complete during the upcoming month. You will not just receive a bill in the mail. What are your terms?Our terms are typically Net 30 days. What if we exceed your terms?Since we bill at the end of the month for work already completed with 30-day payment terms, some of the work will not be paid for as much as 60 days after completion. If a client begins to exceed terms, we will contact the client to determine if there is a problem. We reserve the right to cease project activities until payments are current or other arrangements have been mutually agreed to.
Will you work on a percentage of our sales increase?We have been presented with this scenario numerous times. To date, had we accepted the terms offered to us, projects would have cost past clients as much as ten times our billed amount. The projects are not worth that much. If our business needs or financial situation changes, can we terminate a contracted project?Clients can cancel any project with written notice. We will only bill for those activities completed before the notification is received. All labor and expenses will be calculated up to the termination date and billed with "Net 30 Days" terms. What do you require to begin an assignment?We require a company P.O. or a "go ahead" written on company letterhead and signed by an officer of your company. How soon can you begin an assignment?This varies by the project and our workload, but we begin most projects within two weeks after receiving the notice to proceed. Who will be assigned to my project?Our senior staff work the majority of most projects. You will meet and approve of the staff who will perform your work.
